Get Thee Behind Me
For those of you who wondered and asked…
I did not paint the ornament in the post below. My mother gives me a new ornament each year on Saint Nicholas’ Day (December 6th) each year. As you may have noticed, I like butterflies and therefore they usually play a role in any baubles I receive.
My husband is getting better, thanks for checking. He doesn’t think so because he is not out of bed yet. He has a severe herniated disc and a very swollen pinched nerve. He feels he should be up and tottin’ and haulin’ but that doesn’t come about when you ignore strange tingling sensations in the back of your leg for several weeks before you do something about it – yes, I said those words…”I told you so.” I did wait until there were no more tears, though.
Everyone tell Nessa how badly you feel for her that she has to do EVERYTHING all by her self right now. She loves to wallow and make boo boo faces.

Poor Vanessa, she has still more work to do now.
Do you have to empty bedpans?
.
I was on sick leave from February, 2001, until April with my back. I had a herniated/ruptured L4-L5 disc.
A discectomy and laminectomy fixed it the last of April but first I had to wait until they fixed my Abdominal Aoric Aneuryrism in the first part of April.
In May we attended a wedding in Barbados and visited there and St. Lucia and Martinique.
I feel fine now except that my toes tingle.
And I taught a summeer semester and retired in August.
..
Poor Vanessa and Mr. Vanessa. I feel just terrible. How was that?
sorry… : (
hope hubs is up and at them soon!
have a wonderful weekend!
Can’t you get him a self propelled gurny so he can fetch his own food and do the dishes from it?
In your dreams Nancy Nurse…I take it you aren’t wearing that skimply little nurses outfit or I’m sure your hubby would be up and running…well on second thought…maybe not…Hmmm took you a while to come clean about that ornament. Feeling a tad guilty letting us all swoon over your art work? ROFLMAO!! (Belts back a mud slide on that one) LOL. Hope he gets better soon and No More Tears for you sister…A good woman’s work is NEVER done
Might make for an interesting story, several people who ignore warning signs of impending danger and what happens to them and how it effects loved ones.
Dear Miss Nessa, I truly do feel for you. It is difficult at the best of times to have all the responsibilities of running a household on your shoulders, and at holiday times it is still worse. I can only hold up as a lamp to guide your tired feet the shining example of my selfless and much beloved sister, Annie.
Awwwwwwwwwww… poooooooor Nesssssa! You have to do allllllllllll the work… allllll by yourself… you poor thing. Somebody should just send you a masseur for Christmas! A very BEEFcake masseur!
How’s that?
For some reason your blog insists that I re-type tje identifying information every single time I comment, so I’ll comment on the last several posts here.
Glad your husband is better and I don’t blaem you for wallowing a bit. And that is a cool tradition with the ornaments. And finally, beautiful picture of the baby.
Poor Nessa.
Poorer still, Mr. Nessa.
I hope you are both soon up and at’em — but not until Mr. Nessa is completely mended!
Pretty ornament. I hope your husband feels better each day. You too.
Awww! Poor Nessa!
please to consider thyself empathised with…
if it’s any consolation, I’ve just recovered from a 2-week tummy bug that prevented me from attending to my duties!
all the best
masterymistery at cosmic rapture
I hope everything will be better soon. Have a wonderful week
Ouch Ouch Ouch!!!
And poor Nessa having to pick up all the slack!
That butterfly ornament down below is beautiful though!
Oh Nessa! You need a day at the spa. Nothing worse than a sick husband, especially one that thinks he should be “toughing it out”. Merry Christmas!
Everyone deserves a pity party from time to time. So indulge yourself. Hope the hubby continues to mend.
Sorry about your husband. Feel free to feel sorry for yourself.
I reall like the ornament
Hope your Husband is feeling better soon. You take a day for your and your Grandson and forget about the world.
Merry Christmas Nessa. A Joyous Holiday wished for your and your family.
Herniated discs suck. My father ignored a lot of health problems and at this point needs a lot of help. Of course I’m bad about ignoring problems myself so I guess I can’t say much. Hope you and your family have a happy holiday.
I can’t picture you making boo boo faces
I can picture you taking care of everything
I do hope he is feeling better
and I hope you all get to enjoy the holiday
Hugs
Hope your hubby is feeling better by now. Hope you’re having a great holiday season, and if I don’t make it back soon, Happy New Year!
?????????????, ??? ???????, ???????? ?????!
Nessa, the poor bloke needs to be hung upside down to decompress his herniated disc and relieve the nerve root pressure. Get him over here to New Zealand, and I’ll sort him out pronto.
Christmas and New Year greetings !
