Flash 55 – Inspiration

01

Jason sat staring at his monitor, fingers over the keyboard waiting for inspiration for this week’s Flash 55.

Nothing came to him.

He typed words and deleted them. He looked at some photographs in his My Pictures folder. No inspiration there. He closed his eyes, shook his head.

Perhaps he should just write about nothing.

Flash 55 is hosted by G-Man (Mr. Knowitall). The idea is to write a story in exactly 55 words.

If you want to, take part pop over and let G-man know when you’ve posted your 55. Thanks G-man for hosting.

  1. But when one writes about nothing, it becomes something. 😉

I joined Flash 55 this week and turned out a groaner in honor of Dr. John.

  2. I think we have all been through this and just never written it down. Well done my friend. I love it. It became something – Brilliant 🙂

  3. Nessa, you may remember this one:

    Words eluded me today
for that I will simply write
    tomorrow or yesterday.

    Meter here abandon care
    a bit of nonsense today
    without those words nothing’s here.

Rhyme it surely I can do
    missing words not a problem
I do this lark just for you.

BTW, per you recommendation, I have finished reading Drood by Dan Simmons.
It was good, I did the ‘Books on Tape (CD)” version. Listening time was 29 hours, 59 minutes. Longer for me because I would go back sometimes.
Now I have two editions of Dicken’s Drood. One is actually a book by Fruttero and Lucentine containing their own literary sleuthing to the beat of Dicken’s work.
The end question is “Who killed Charles Dickens?” I have not gottent to the answer yet. 🙂

  4. Like sitting on the toilet trying to poop when you really don’t have to and your legs and butt get numb, and when you finally do, it just gets flushed down with the all the others’ crap.
