Rain Down On Me

I’ve been learning lots with Holly Lisle’s How To Think Sideways course.

All of my favorite stories and the themes I like to write about have to do with the 3 m’s: Murder, Magic and Madness (love.)

I have boiled my named characters in Married to Death (MtD) down to the essential 9: they have names, their functions within the story and a few scenes along the plot timeline. I’ve been able to keep many of the roles for each but I will need to rework the outline. And I need to be a lot more mean to each.

I’m really getting into Mind Mapping as a problem solving device.

My left-brain is called Frank, my right-brain is Fred and my Muse is Fiona. Still trying to figure out the significance of all those f’s.

One of these days, I’m going to post an entry without spell-checking it or doing any other editing just to annoy the shit out of my perfectionist inner voice.

I can get myself to do almost anything if I promise I only have to do it for 10 minutes.

Walking, doing the dishes, folding laundry and playing in the pool are all essential to the writing process. Got to let the old mind percolate while keeping the body busy on automatic pilot.

Classical music helps me sleep.

I adore rain. It is now my background on all of my computers and my google homepages.

I must write for myself. Duh!
