Dona Nobis Pacem – Thursday Thirteen

“Dona Nobis Pacem” – Latin for “Grant Us Peace”

Thirteen Reasons to Like Peace

1. Peace is cool. You get to lay around and relax as opposed to War where you have to duck and weave and bob to avoid hot things like bombs and bullets.

2. Peace is an homophone with piece and if we stretch our imaginations, maybe even pease.

3. Peace is a greeting. War is not.

4. Peace has its very own, unique and special symbol.peace-31

5. Peace is the true objective of war according to Sun Tzu’s The Art of War, so why not just skip war and go directly to peace?

6. “Peace is liberty in tranquility.” Cicero

7. John Lennon’s – Give Peace a Chance is a very snappy song.

8. Peace requires less clean up.

9. Peace has a coveted prize.

10. Peace has its own Corps.

11. The Peace Poem

12. People

and

Calm

Everywhere

13. Need I say more than this?

  1. Dona Nobis Pacem. What a wonderful post! I love all your reasons for peace, but the last one really did it for me. What a cutie pie! Have a peaceful week, Nessa πŸ™‚

  2. I’m thinking about the bumper sticker I once saw that said Whirled Peas and the song by Elvis Costello: What’s so funny bout peace love and understanding.

  3. I had meant to do this but forgot. My brane hurtz!
If I ever get 39 comments on one of my posts, and they aren’t spam or hate, my brain will explode. So I guess if people want to kill me off, they should kill me with kindness.
