Sean the Vampire sat staring at his surroundings. All of the blood had been cleaned off of the walls and sluiced off of the floors. The artwork, painted on canvases of human flesh had been taken down from the walls and had not yet been replaced by something less stomach churning. The stench of John Smith’s mutilated body had been cleared away by fresh air and sprays.

He still had difficulty accepting his savage attack on the old serial killer, but Sean had been driven mad with blood lust from prolonged hunger and Doctor Death’s instigations in the situation. After hours of listening to Doctor Death’s reasoning, badgering and harassment, Sean had finally accepted Doctor Death’s plan for the future.

Sean would be transformed into the long lost son of Doctor Death, aka David Smith, who was John Smith’s dead brother. As John Smith’s only living relative, the missing nephew would inherit all of John Smith’s millions which would make it oh so easy for Sean the Vampire to hunt down other serial killers and dispatch them to the great beyond.

Sean the Vampire would become the avenging angel of many innocents. He would also be able to indulge his need for human blood without the pangs of guilt and disgust he had been experiencing in the past.

Since John Smith had killed David Smith’s son, David had been out for vengeance. First, against himself, by self-destructing with drug’s, thus becoming the Ghost Toasty known as Doctor Death. Once dead, Doctor Death had haunted John Smith, waiting for the time when Doctor Death could find someone to kill the killer.

A wealthy entrepreneur, John Smith had been a generous friend to orphans and a blood thirsty, sadistic, serial killer. The kindly old man persona masked a monster that killed regularly after using ancient torture devices to invoke pinnacles of pain in his victims. Once dead, he used their skins as the cloth on which to paint masterpieces of the macabre that netted him even more money.

The vampire, reborn as Adam Smith, David’s son, planned to carry out the good works of the evil uncle while hunting soulless killers and drinking warm, thick, sanguine fluid.

I have my three main characters for my NaNoWriMo 2009 novel, along with a basic plot and the novel’s title. Now, I just need to do the outline (and I still have four more days to go.)

  5. That’s a powerful character, and with the blurring of morality, it could be a winner.

  6. Jim says:

Hey Nessa, why did your serial killer have to be old?
Did you know that at full moon times my teeth grow quickly

  17. Good luck on your NaNoWriMo Novel! The plot suits Halloween very well. Scary way to die, but might be appropriate for these heartless serial killers.
